Some Sweets from my Sweetie for Valentines

Like many of you, we have been trying new recipes over the last year, and a few have really stuck with us, and are a regular part of the Chez Nez dessert menu—whether they be pumpkin muffins, cinnamon buns (a Sunday morning requirement), and especially for Valentine’s Day are these melt-in-your-mouth warm out-of-the-oven Peanut Butter Blossoms.

I can’t take credit for making any of these, my sweet valentine Colleen is the baker in the house, and the boys and I fight over the last one of anything she makes!

Normally Colleen uses kisses, but the heart-shaped chocolates were the call for today! Milk or dark chocolate, they melt a little when pressed into the warm cookies. Yum!

Valentine anniversary—Susanna and Tom

This portrait is an anniversary of sorts for Susanna and Tom. We did this engagement session at their house one year ago today! Shown with their cat Zoe. Congrats you two.

Chocolate Seduction

In the spirit of the upcoming Valentine’s Day this Sunday, I thought I’d share this cocktail shot for an Oval Vodka campaign, which included 14 different cocktails for every occasion including Father’s Day, Tax Day, St. Pat’s, just to name a few. This particular drink was rather tasty and will be sure to please (forget the flowers guys).

Chocolate Seduction
1.5 oz Oval Vodka
1.5 oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
1 oz heavy cream
grated dark chocolate for garnish

Chill a medium sized (5 oz) martini glass; combine vodka, chocolate liqueur and heavy cream in shaker fill with ice; shake vigorously to blend and foam; strain into chilled glass. Garnish by “dusting” with chocolate.
