I had the opportunity to shoot a Vibrant Rioja sponsored awards dinner for the Tempranillos al Mundo international wine competition culminating at Gastroarte Restaurant in mid-town NYC this past week. And in addition to some fantastic Rioja wine pairings, Gastroarte lived up to their namesake with the fantastic presentation and a flavorful four-course meal which featured Eggplant and Fried Oysters, Serrano Wrapped Monkfish, Suckling Pig with Fingerling Potatoes, and the desert was simply named Almond-Vanilla-Lime, all of which I was just as happy to eat as well as shoot. Shelagh and Travis’ Engagement

We had a great engagement shoot today on the walking trails behind the Park-McCullough House in North Bennington, VT. I only wish we had more time, but the rain held off just long enough to get some great shots. Congrats to Shelagh and Travis, looking forward to the wedding next fall!

Aaron and Hunter

When I first met with Aaron and Hunter to talk about their wedding photos, they said that they really liked black and whites. So with that in mind, I selected some of my favorites from their wedding day. We had a spectacular day at the beautiful setting of the Mepal Manor and Spa in New Marlborough, MA.
I wish them all the best, and hope I get the chance to return to this wonderful inn someday for another ceremony.

We had a picture perfect day in the Garden State, and it was fun to share their day together with family and friends. It was my first New Jersey wedding and I hope I’ll get the chance to do more. The wedding was in Morristown and the reception was at the Lake Valhalla Club in Montville.

They say that rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck. If that holds true then Jayme and Adam are going to have a fantastic marriage. It really got dicey for a while with the outdoor ceremony and Irene bearing down on us, but then the rain stopped, and there was a peaceful calm for over an hour with beautiful soft light, and we had a great shoot.

Absolut Sangria

Today’s assignment:

Absolut Sangria
3 parts sparkling white wine
1 part Absolut Grapevine
1 part fresh lemon juice
1/2 part Hiram Walker Triple Sec
1/2 part Martell Cognac
1 can of peaches in light syrup
6 cinnamon sticks
6 green grapes halved
4 fresh strawberries halved
6 lemon wheels

Stir over ice in a pitcher…enjoy

Xicohténcatl Mexican Restaurant

Pronounced “She-Ko-Ten-Cat”, this authentic Mexican restaurant in Great Barrington is serving up some fantastic food. I recently had the opportunity to shoot the summer menu for Chef Angel Espinoza Jimenez, who is the youngest of ten children and who credits his mother, Raquel, for teaching him the “magic” of creating a delicious authentic Mexican meal. These are but a few of my favorites from the frenetic shoot as we rushed to get as many plates done before the restaurant filled up. The servers were standing by to feast on the new menu offerings as each one was shot. I had a tasty meal of roasted Poblano peppers stuffed with spinach and cheese covered in a tasty mole sauce. I will be back…
